Ally's 2 Week Dr. Appointment
Well Matt and I took Ally to her 2 week Dr. appointment hoping that she had put on a lot of weight and was back to her birth weight of 8 lbs. The nurse weighed her and she had only gained 1 ounce since her weigh in last Wednesday. She currently weighs 7 lbs 8.5 ounces. The doctor was a little concerned but told me to supplement her more with formula. I was a little bummed about this, but I realize the most important thing is Ally gaining weight so we are going to try giving her more formula and still adding breastfeeding in at times. So far we have fed her twice since we've been home from the doctor and both times she has drank 2 ounces of formula and fallen asleep. I think I could get use to this!! :) The doctor also removed her cord from her belly button b/c it was almost falling off. Her little belly button is so cute!
Other than that we are all doing great. We hope everyone has a Happy New Year!

Ally's First Christmas
Ally enjoyed her first Christmas. She spent it with her mom and dad, grandparents (Beverly, Bob & Ann), and Aunt Tina & Uncle Robbie. Robbie & Tina's dog Beamer was also here for Christmas too and he loved Ally. Ally got a lot of nice things for Christmas from her family, but Matt & I got the best Christmas gift ever....a beautiful, healthy daughter!! We are so blessed!
Ally's First Doctor Appointment
On Monday, December 22 Ally had her first doctor appointment at Prattville Pediatrics with Dr. Garcia. We were very excited to get Ally out for her first trip and to meet her new doctor. It was pretty cold out so we bundled her up from head to toe. My parents came to the doctor with us to meet Dr. Garcia too. We absolutely loved the doctor. She seemed to really love her job and explained a lot of things to us. Ally weighed 7 lbs, 7.5 oz at the doctor, which she explained was normal for her to lose weight. The doctor examined her and she said everything looked good. She scheduled an appointment for us to come back in 2 days so we could re-weigh her to see if she is gaining weight. Ally did so good at the doctor and we even have pictures to prove it!
Ally's Homecoming
Ally's Birth
Sorry it has taken me so long to update the blog but we've been a little busy. :) On December 18th Matt & I went to Baptist East for our scheduled induction. Dr. Waller told us to get there at 5:30am but of course we were there early at around 5:00am. When we got there they put me in a labor and delivery room that was VERY nice and started my IV and everything. The IV actually wasn't as bad as I had thought it would be. When they hooked me up to the monitors I was already having some mild contractions onmy own. Dr. Waller came in around 7:00 or so and broke my water and they started the pitocin. I started having some contractions and some were pretty strong. Once I reached 4 cm I got the epidural which was fabulous!! About an hour after I got the epidural I was dilated to 6 cm and 30 minutes later I was already at 10 cm!!! We were all shocked to say the least...even the nurse who had to scramble to find a doctor. My doctor was in surgery so unfortunately he could not deliver Ally, but I had another very nice doctor deliver her. I started pushing a little before 11:00am and by 11:23am I had Ally!! It was the best feeling i've ever had when I saw her for the first time. Matt & I both cried because we were so excited to see our little girl. My mom and Matt's mom were also there for the birth and it really meant a lot to them that we allowed them to be part of this experience.
Ally was absolutely beautiful when we saw her. She had a head full of hair and some chubby cheeks! She was so alert when we held her. She looked up at us with big blue eyes and we fell in love with her the moment we saw her.

37 Week Appointment
Matt and I went to our 37 week appointment and I was examined for the first time. The doctor said i'm 1.5 to 2 cm dilated and she's definitely head down. He scheduled for me to be induced on December 18th but he doesn't think i'll make it that long. We are very excited and can't believe she'll be here in a couple weeks!!!

December is here!
We have finally made it to December so only 21 days until my due date. Matt and I are anxiously awaiting the arrival of Ally. We have her nursery all finished, her clothes are all washed, and our bags are packed for the hospital! I go to the doctor every week from this point on so tomorrow we should find out how Ally is progressing. We can't wait to meet our little angel and for all of you to see her too!
